"2024 was a good year for Comwell"

The Danish-owned hotel chain Comwell Hotels today announced the chain's annual results for 2024. Comwell is making progress on both top and bottom lines with revenue of DKK 1,322.4 million compared to DKK 1,290.6 million in 2023 and a profit before tax of DKK 47.3 million compared to DKK 34.2 million in 2023. The chain has also strengthened its sustainability foundation and looks to the future, which includes several new hotel projects.

Comwell continues its positive development and sets another revenue record in 2024. Combined with an increased occupancy rate and a stronger result, Comwell cements its position as one of the leading hotel chains in Denmark.

"2024 has been a good year for Comwell. We have set a new revenue record and improved our result from last year. This reflects continued strong demand for both overnight stays and meeting facilities. Our employees have delivered an excellent performance and help create unique moments for our guests every single day," says Peter Schelde, CEO of Comwell Hotels.

Focus on sustainability and employee wellbeing

2024 was also a remarkable year for Comwell's ESG efforts. The year was particularly characterised by the Group's completion of a double materiality assessment, which has clarified the most important sustainability areas in the chain's business. The analysis helps to set the strategic direction and strengthen Comwell's foundation in a constantly changing market.

"Today, ESG is fully integrated into our business strategy and has the support of both the board and senior management. We don't just want to keep up with developments, but to set direction and create real change," says Peter Schelde.

For Comwell, 2024 has also been about the immediate future with the group's continued focus on employees and their well-being, training and development. In recent years, Comwell has had great success with the chain's own Student Academy and two sustainability programmes, Green Chef and Green Hostmanship. During the year, Comwell developed another programme, a talent academy, which will help ensure that the hotel chain can continue to attract the best professionals and develop even better colleagues.

New hotel projects on the way

After years of adjustments to Comwell's portfolio, the hotel chain is now ready to look ahead to new projects.

"We are looking forward to expanding with new hotels that fit into our strategy - right now we have the opening of an impressive hotel tower in Aarhus and a hotel in Kongens Lyngby on the agenda. We are experiencing growth throughout the market, and we want to be part of this positive development. We've come a long way with interesting projects and negotiations and we look forward to unveiling more in the future," concludes Peter Schelde.
