Confirmation in Zealand

If you are planning a confirmation in Zealand, you can choose from five different Comwell hotels – from Copenhagen and North Zealand to Roskilde and Køge. The venues vary in terms of setting, size, price and what is included in their celebration packages.

Here, you can compare the options and find the setting that best suits the confirmand, your number of guests and the type of confirmation or non-confirmation celebration you would like to hold.

All five venues can provide the setting for a confirmation celebration, but they suit different types of parties and preferences. They vary in the size of celebrations they are best suited to, how close you are to nature and the water, and how easy it is for guests to get there.

So the choice is not only about which venue appeals to you most at first glance. It can also depend on whether you are inviting 25 or 100 guests, whether you would like a terrace or green surroundings, and where your guests will be travelling from.

Starting prices across the five venues range from DKK 848 to DKK 1,485 per person, but the packages are put together differently and also vary in duration. Comparing the price per person alone therefore does not give the full picture.

Comwell Køge Strand’s six-hour celebration package starts from DKK 848 per person and includes, among other things, a three-course menu as well as wine, beer and water during dinner. At Comwell Roskilde, the five-hour celebration package starts from DKK 889 and includes a welcome, a three-course gourmet menu and drinks during dinner.

Comwell Holte’s six-hour celebration package starts from DKK 1,028 and includes, among other things, drinks during dinner and a self-service bar afterwards. The five-hour celebration package at Comwell Copenhagen Portside starts from DKK 1,045 and includes beer, water and wine throughout all five hours, as well as the choice of either a three-course menu or buffet.

Comwell Borupgaard’s celebration package starts from DKK 1,485 per person and lasts eight hours. It includes, among other things, cava, a three- or four-course menu, unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks, coffee and tea, as well as a self-service bar with wine, beer and water.

The differences between the packages therefore come down to duration, menu, drinks and what is included after dinner. The most relevant comparison is the overall package in relation to the type of celebration you would like to hold.

Comwell Copenhagen Portside is approximately 100 metres from the metro, while Comwell Borupgaard is around 200 metres from Snekkersten Station. There is also a clear difference for guests arriving by car: parking is free at Comwell Borupgaard, while Comwell Copenhagen Portside has paid parking in the basement beneath the hotel as well as parking available in a nearby car park.

At Comwell Køge Strand, Køge Station is 1.2 kilometres from the hotel. For guests travelling by train from Funen or Jutland, Køge Nord may also be relevant. The station is 8.8 kilometres from the hotel and has train connections to destinations including Funen, Jutland and Copenhagen. Comwell Roskilde is three kilometres from Roskilde Station and has a bus stop close to the hotel.

Comwell Køge Strand, Comwell Roskilde and Comwell Holte all offer free parking. If many guests are driving from other parts of Denmark, compare the full journey by car – including the stretch from the motorway to the hotel – rather than looking only at the distance from Copenhagen. Remember to factor in the journey from the church to the celebration venue as well.

The menus are structured differently across the five hotels. At Comwell Copenhagen Portside, you can choose between a three-course menu and a buffet as part of the celebration package. Comwell Borupgaard’s package offers a choice of a three- or four-course menu, and the brochure also includes seasonal menus that you can put together yourselves. At Comwell Roskilde, the five-hour celebration package includes a three-course gourmet menu, with the main course served twice, while a celebration buffet is available for an additional charge.

The style of service is therefore worth considering when making your choice. A served menu keeps guests gathered around the tables, while a buffet creates more movement and gives guests the opportunity to choose between several different elements.

The dishes and choices also vary. At Comwell Copenhagen Portside, the seasonal menus combine Danish ingredients with elements such as labneh, yuzu and bulgur tabbouleh. Comwell Holte gives you the option of putting together a seasonal menu featuring ingredients such as asparagus, wild garlic and rhubarb, with the option to add an intermediate course for an additional charge. At Comwell Køge Strand, the seasonal menus include fish, meat and vegetarian options among both the starters and main courses.

The style of service also affects the package price. At Comwell Copenhagen Portside, the choice between three courses and a buffet is included. In Comwell Køge Strand’s brochure, a buffet-style main course costs an additional DKK 68 per person, while the celebration buffet in Comwell Roskilde’s five-hour package costs an additional DKK 75 per person. These are different buffet options, so compare both the content and the way the food is served.

What the hotels have in common is Comwell’s food concept, where taste and seasonal ingredients are the starting point, and local ingredients are used whenever possible. All Comwell hotels hold the Bronze Organic Cuisine Label. This means that 30–60% of food and beverage purchases are organic. The percentage applies to purchasing overall, not to the individual celebration menu. Speak to the hotel about the confirmand’s preferences, children’s menus and dietary requirements when choosing the dishes.

When planning a confirmation, it is helpful to know which terms apply if your plans or guest numbers change along the way. We therefore recommend reading the general cancellation terms well in advance, so you have a clear overview from the outset.
