CEO Peter Schelde accepted the award as Comwell Hotels was named Denmark’s Best Hotel Chain for the second year running at the Danish Travel Awards 2026.
Comwell Hotels has once again been named Best Hotel Chain in Denmark at the Danish Travel Awards 2026. The awards ceremony took place at Wallmans Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen.
This is the second consecutive year that Comwell has received the award, and Peter Schelde, CEO of the Danish, family-owned hotel group, took to the stage to lift the trophy.
“This award is a great honour, and receiving it two years running means something special because it is based on consumers’ assessments and their own experiences with us. Above all, it recognises my talented colleagues across the group and the outstanding work they do for our guests every single day. That makes me incredibly proud,” says Peter Schelde, CEO of Comwell Hotels.
Our people at the heart of the experience
At Comwell, colleagues in many different roles help shape guests’ stays and experiences, from the welcome at reception to meals in the restaurant, time spent in their rooms and the smooth running of a conference or celebration. Peter Schelde highlights their warm hospitality and the high standards maintained across roles, departments and hotels:
“Our guests arrive with different expectations and needs. Some come to relax, others to work. Our job is to pay attention to what matters to each individual guest and make sure everyone feels welcome and at ease at Comwell,” says Peter Schelde, adding:
“We are deeply grateful to have once again been named Denmark’s Best Hotel Chain at the Danish Travel Awards, and we thank our guests for this valuable recognition. It motivates us to continue developing our hotels and guest experiences.”
About the Danish Travel Awards
The Danish Travel Awards are organised by TravelMedia Nordic. This year marked the 29th edition of the prestigious awards celebrating Denmark’s travel, tourism and aviation industries.
Awards were presented in 20 categories, alongside three special awards.
The winners are determined by a consumer survey conducted by research and consultancy firm Epinion. A representative sample of 3,000 Danes, reflecting the population’s gender, age and geographical distribution, were invited to rate their own experiences with the nominated companies.
