Comwell Aarhus Expands

Something exciting is happening in Aarhus. Right behind the Central Station, a new tower is rising as part of the city's skyline. Standing 16 storeys tall, it marks a significant expansion of Comwell Aarhus – just moments from the river, the harbour and the city's shopping streets.

Opening in February 2027, the new tower will expand the hotel's capacity and create even more opportunities for overnight stays, meetings, conferences and exceptional dining experiences. At the very top, a new rooftop bar and restaurant will offer panoramic views across Aarhus.

Aarhus is a popular destination for business travellers, holidaymakers and weekend visitors alike. The new tower will increase the hotel's capacity while introducing a range of new room types. In total, Comwell Aarhus will offer 401 rooms across 12 room categories.

Among the highlights are three spacious suites and rooms featuring a kitchenette and dining area, providing added comfort and flexibility – especially for longer stays.

All rooms include access to a large new fitness centre on the ground floor.

The expansion will also introduce exciting new experiences for both hotel guests and the people of Aarhus. An external glass lift will take visitors to the impressive rooftop bar on the 16th floor, where panoramic views stretch from the green forests of Marselisborg to the modern waterfront district of Aarhus Ø. It's the perfect place to unwind with friends or colleagues over a cocktail, light bites or a great cup of coffee.

On the 15th floor, a vibrant sky bar will offer panoramic views, music and a cocktail menu inspired by some of the world's greatest cities. For smaller groups, a private bar is also available, accommodating up to 14 guests.

When it's time to dine, the hotel's new restaurant on the 14th floor is just one level below. Seating around 110 guests, it will serve seasonal cuisine with Asian-inspired flavours in elegant surroundings. Like the sky bar, the restaurant also features a Private Dining Room for up to 14 guests.

The new restaurant complements the hotel's existing restaurant on the first floor, which opens onto an outdoor terrace.

With its central location and easy access to public transport, Comwell Aarhus makes it simple to bring people together. The expansion adds new meeting rooms as well as a spacious connecting bridge designed for exhibitions, networking breaks and informal meetings. Together with the hotel's increased room capacity and dining venues, these new facilities create even more opportunities to host meetings, conferences and events.

A modern hotel meets historic surroundings

For larger events, Comwell Aarhus can be combined with Comwell Centralværkstedet – a beautifully restored locomotive workshop located just opposite the hotel. Featuring exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, abundant character and a charming courtyard, the venue offers a distinctive change of scenery while keeping everything conveniently within walking distance.

• Comwell Aarhus offers 28 meeting and conference rooms, with the largest accommodating up to 500 guests.

• Comwell Centralværkstedet accommodates up to 800 guests, while Smedien, a separate event venue, can host up to 200 guests.
