The Danish-owned hotel chain Comwell Hotels today announced its annual results for 2025. Comwell has delivered a significant improvement in results, with a profit after tax of DKK 59.5 million, compared with DKK 35.6 million in 2024. At the same time, turnover in the Danish business grew to DKK 1,163 million, compared with DKK 1,087 million the previous year, representing growth of 6.7 per cent. Operating profit also rose significantly to DKK 81.8 million, compared with DKK 47.5 million the previous year.
“2025 has been a strong year for Comwell. We have significantly improved our results whilst generating solid growth in our Danish business. This shows that demand for hotel stays, meetings and conferences remains high, and that we are in a strong position in the market. At the same time, it is the result of a dedicated effort by our employees and a sustained focus on developing our concepts and guest experiences,” says Peter Schelde, CEO of Comwell Hotels.
Strong demand across the business
Over the course of the year, Comwell has seen growth across several parts of the business. Individual room sales and the spa, in particular, have performed well.
“We are seeing healthy and broad demand across our hotels. Both corporate and private guests are prioritising meeting up, experiencing new things and spending time together, and we are clearly seeing this in our business,” says Peter Schelde.
New strategy and continued development
In 2025, Comwell launched a new five-year strategic period focused on improving offerings and services for both B2C and B2B customers through an increased emphasis on innovation and digitalisation, as well as continuous investment in providing the best facilities on the market. The strategy aims to help maintain and further develop the company’s position as one of Denmark’s leading players in the meetings, conferences and hotel accommodation sector.
As part of the strategy, Comwell is working on new digital solutions, the development of concepts and the continued expansion of its hotel portfolio.
Most recently, Comwell has signed an agreement for the development and subsequent operation of a new hotel in the iconic Panoptikon building in the heart of Copenhagen. The hotel is expected to open in 2028 and will feature 190 rooms, as well as a restaurant and rooftop bar.
“We stand on a strong foundation and have a clear ambition to continue developing Comwell in the coming years. We are investing in our hotels, strengthening our concepts and actively working on new projects that can enhance both the guest experience and the business,” says Peter Schelde.
Outlook for 2026
Comwell is entering 2026 in a strong position and expects demand to remain positive. For 2026, the Group expects revenue in the range of DKK 1,230–1,260 million (excluding managed hotels) and profit after tax in the range of DKK 55–60 million.
