Both venues offer their own distinctive atmosphere, and with only a single road separating them, they can also complement each other perfectly. For example, you can hold the celebration itself at Comwell Centralværkstedet and let you and your guests stay overnight at Comwell Aarhus.

When looking for wedding venues in Aarhus, the number of guests is only one part of the decision. It also matters how you want the venue to feel and whether the celebration, overnight stay and following morning should all be closely connected.

Comwell Aarhus and Comwell Centralværkstedet are neighbours, separated by just one road, but the two wedding venues offer very different experiences. At the hotel, guest rooms, function rooms and breakfast are all under one roof. At Comwell Centralværkstedet, the historic event setting plays a much greater role in shaping the celebration.

Comwell Aarhus: When a Modern Hotel Setting Matters Most

Comwell Aarhus is a wedding venue with modern function rooms for up to 180 guests. The reception, dinner, speeches, wedding waltz and party can all take place in your own function room at the hotel, and when the evening comes to an end, both the wedding couple and guests can stay overnight at the same location.

This is particularly convenient if many guests are travelling from further afield or if you would like the wedding celebrations to continue into the following morning. The hotel currently has 240 rooms, and the wedding couple can stay in the wedding suite with 180-degree views. The next day, everyone can gather again over breakfast.

Unlike Comwell Centralværkstedet, Comwell Aarhus operates as a hotel, giving it a range of facilities that are not available on the other side of the road.

Comwell Centralværkstedet: When a Large Celebration and Plenty of Space Matter Most

At Comwell Centralværkstedet, the wedding takes on a different character. The former railway buildings have retained original tracks in the floor, iron columns, brick walls and large railway workshop windows, among other historic features, making the venue both distinctive and well known in Aarhus.

Here, you can choose between two wedding venues. Centralværkstedet is the larger space, with room for up to 350 guests at round tables and the option of dividing the large room into smaller areas. There is also space to use the stage if you are planning to book live performers.

Smedien can accommodate up to 150 guests and has a more intimate feel, with features including a fireplace, bar and lounge areas. Both venues provide access to the courtyard, which can be used for a reception or drinks, for example.

Comwell Centralværkstedet is frequently used for weddings, as the spaces are ideally suited to events and celebrations. The venue also has the advantage of being able to accommodate everything from smaller and medium-sized celebrations to very large parties.

If you would like to hold your wedding at a hotel with accommodation for your guests in modern surroundings, Comwell Aarhus is a good choice. If you are looking for a different atmosphere for the celebration itself, Comwell Centralværkstedet offers rustic function spaces that open directly onto the outdoor courtyard.

The advantage of the location of our two venues is that you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

The choice does not have to be between Comwell Aarhus and Comwell Centralværkstedet. Their close proximity makes it possible to use them for different parts of the same wedding.

For example, you can hold the wedding celebration in Centralværkstedet or Smedien and use Comwell Aarhus for overnight accommodation, or as a base for both the bride and groom between the different parts of the day.

This gives you the historic event setting for the celebration itself, combined with the hotel’s modern rooms, breakfast area and overnight accommodation afterwards.

The two wedding venues therefore work individually, but they also give you the opportunity to create a natural change of setting during the wedding.

For the 2027 wedding season, you can also look forward to the expansion of Comwell Aarhus with a new 16-storey tower, opening in February 2027. Once the tower is completed, the hotel will have a total of 401 rooms across 12 categories, as well as a rooftop area with a pool and outdoor bar. The expansion will also include new restaurant experiences and exclusive function spaces.

The price of a wedding depends on factors such as the number of guests, menu, drinks, duration of the celebration, optional extras and any overnight accommodation. At both Comwell Aarhus and Comwell Centralværkstedet, the current wedding package starts from DKK 1,695 per person.

In addition to the wedding packages, both venues also offer other celebration packages. At Comwell Aarhus, celebration packages start from DKK 1,095 per person, while at Comwell Centralværkstedet they start from DKK 1,195 per person. The packages vary in terms of content and duration and therefore cannot be compared directly with the wedding package.

The total price depends, among other things, on:

• how many guests you invite

• which menu and drinks package you choose

• the duration of the celebration

• bar, cocktails, late-night food and other optional extras

• whether the wedding is combined with overnight accommodation

How to Plan Your Wedding in Aarhus
