The hotel is furnished with Danish HAY design and combines contemporary style with the raw, industrial atmosphere that characterises the harbour area. Each reception room has its own distinct expression: Room K on the second floor is popular for its natural light and views of the city, while Rooms A, B, and C feature striking chandeliers that can be adapted to suit the mood of the space. In Room C, you also have your own private terrace with lounge furniture.

The rooms provide the perfect setting for dinner, speeches, the bridal waltz, and the celebration itself. When it is time to dance, we lay a proper dance floor, and the rooms offer technical options for lighting and sound, allowing the setting to be tailored to the different moments of the day.

Wedding Menus with Seasonal Ingredients

Food is an important part of the wedding experience at Comwell Aarhus. Our wedding menus are based on seasonal ingredients and are created with a focus on flavour, variety, and a great overall experience throughout the day – from the reception and dinner to cocktails and late-night food later in the evening.

The wedding package includes, among other things, a wedding reception, a four-course wedding menu, a wine menu, beer, soft drinks, and wine ad libitum, coffee and tea with sweet treats, cocktails, and late-night food. The menu can be tailored in dialogue with the hotel, so that it suits your wishes and the flow of the day.

We Help You Plan Your Wedding in Aarhus

When you choose to celebrate your wedding at Comwell Aarhus, you will be assigned a personal wedding planner who helps create a clear overview from the very first tour of the venue right through to the wedding day itself. Together, you will go through your wishes for the day, the number of guests, your choice of venue, and the atmosphere you would like to create.

Once the setting is in place, we prepare a proposal and agree on the next steps. Closer to the wedding, we meet for a planning meeting where we go through the programme for the day, the menu, table layout, table setting, flowers, decorations, and any special requests.

Your wedding planner is also familiar with the venue’s technical possibilities and helps incorporate lighting, sound, stage setup, spotlights, and microphones for speeches into the day. We can also assist with contact to selected suppliers, including florists and DJs, so that the practical details come together seamlessly with the rest of the celebration.

The hotel has 240 rooms, making it easy to gather guests travelling from afar and give the day a calm ending without anyone having to think about getting home late in the evening.

As the bridal couple, you can stay in the wedding suite with a 180-degree view – complimentary. The next day, you can meet your guests for breakfast at the hotel and extend the experience a little longer.

The hotel is centrally located in Aarhus, within easy reach of Aarhus Central Station, the light rail, bus connections, and parking facilities at the hotel. This makes it easy for guests to travel to and from the wedding – whether they are arriving from Aarhus or elsewhere in the country.

Centralværkstedet: A Wedding in Raw and Historic Surroundings

Directly opposite Comwell Aarhus is Comwell Centralværkstedet – one of Aarhus’ most distinctive wedding venues, with raw brick walls, old railway tracks embedded in the floor, tall carriage-house windows, iron columns, and exposed brickwork. Here, you get historic and industrial surroundings for your wedding, while accommodation for you and your guests is just a few minutes’ walk away at the hotel.

Centralværkstedet consists of two venues: Centralværkstedet, with capacity for up to 350 guests at round tables, and Smedien, with capacity for up to 150 guests at round tables. Centralværkstedet features high ceilings, a mezzanine, a lounge area, and the option to divide the space into smaller rooms, while Smedien includes a bar, fireplace, and lounge area.

Both venues offer direct access to the courtyard, with fire pits, string lights, torches, and patio heaters. Here, you can gather your guests for the reception, drinks, or a break between the ceremony and dinner – right in the heart of Aarhus, yet still in undisturbed surroundings.

Our reception rooms are bright and modern, furnished with pieces from the well-known Danish design brand HAY. Each room has its own distinct character, whether you prefer beautiful views across the city rooftops or large chandeliers that can be dimmed to suit the atmosphere, and one of the rooms even has its own private rooftop terrace with lounge furniture.

Directly opposite the hotel, you will find Centralværkstedet and Smedien, which are historic former railway buildings transformed into raw and distinctive event venues with beautiful brick walls and tall windows. Centralværkstedet offers plenty of space for large celebrations with up to 350 guests, while Smedien is ideal for smaller weddings with up to 150 guests. Both venues also have access to a private courtyard, which is perfect for welcome drinks.

Our chefs prepare the food from scratch, with a focus on great flavour and fresh seasonal ingredients. Our wedding package covers the entire day and includes a cosy reception, an elegant four-course dinner with accompanying wines, an open bar with beer and soft drinks, coffee with sweet treats, cocktails for the celebration, and late-night food. A significant share of our purchases is also organic.

The hotel is located in the heart of Aarhus, close to the central station, the light rail, the town hall, and the city’s churches, making it incredibly easy for your guests to arrive and depart. At the same time, there is a large underground car park just across the road, so guests arriving by car can park conveniently close to the celebration.

You will have your very own planner, who will help you with all the practical details from the first guided tour right through to the wedding day itself, so that you can relax completely. We help keep track of the schedule, the menu, the table layout, and the technical setup for music and speeches, and we can also put you in touch with trusted suppliers for both flowers and music.

Yes, the hotel has 240 rooms, so your guests can celebrate freely without worrying about driving home during the night. As the bridal couple, you will receive your own wedding suite with panoramic views completely free of charge, and the next morning you can all gather at your own pace over the hotel’s generous breakfast buffet and talk about the celebration.

Terms and Conditions

Hosting a celebration is important in many ways – financially as well. At Comwell, we give you complete peace of mind throughout the entire process, and you can already familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions so that you feel confident from start to finish. And what about payment, cancellation, and children’s discounts?

  • Up to 3 months before the first day of the event, cancellation can be made free of charge.

  • Between 1 and 3 months before the first day of the event, 50% of the total booked amount will be charged.

  • Less than 1 month before the first day of the event, 100% will be charged.

  • However, cancellation of up to 10% of the confirmed number of participants can be made free of charge up to 48 hours before the event.*

  • Cancellation, which must always be made in writing, is understood to include annulment, reduction, shortening, rescheduling, and similar significant changes in relation to the confirmation.

General Cancellation Terms

The following discounts apply after payment has been made for a minimum of 30 adults.

For children who receive the same party menu as the adults, the following discounts apply to the menu:

  • Children up to 3 years old are free.

  • Children between 3-12 years old receive a 50% discount
